Architektur ist kein Haus. Architektur ist eine Disziplin, in der Lebensrealitäten verhandelt werden. Architektur berührt uns alle. Gerade in Zeiten des Umbruchs gibt das Haus der Architektur Raum für diese Auseinandersetzung – mit fachlicher Expertise und im Dialog mit der Öffentlichkeit.

Our international alliance is looking for emerging creatives working at the intersection of architecture and spatial practices to better our common future. All kinds of bold thinkers and practitioners are invited to apply with a proposal illustrating their ideas. Up to 22 individuals and teams will be selected at this call to attend the LINA Forum (Barcelona, Spain, October 2026) to create connections and initiate collaborations. Auftaktveranstaltung. 20. Mai, 17:30 Uhr, AZW Die Architekturtage – Österreichs größte Publikumsveranstaltung für Baukultur und Ingenieurtechnik – starten 2026 in die 13. Runde. Österreichs Architekturhäuser wieder alle Interessierte ein, die Vielfalt des baukulturellen Gestaltens in allen Bundesländern zu entdecken. Bei der kommenden Ausgabe holen die Architekturtage Infrastrukturen des Alltags vor den Vorhang und laden die Besucher:innen ein, im Rahmen spannender Vermittlungsformate in deren Geschichte, Gegenwart und Zukunft einzutauchen. Veranstaltet wird das Festival biennal von der Bundeskammer und den Länderkammern der Ziviltechniker:innen sowie der Architekturstiftung Österreich.

Die Koralmbahn bringt Graz und Klagenfurt näher zusammen – und eröffnet neue Möglichkeiten des Miteinanders. Im Rahmen der Architekturtage 2026 wird diese Verbindung erlebbar: Der Zug wird zum Denkraum für Austausch und neue Perspektiven, während in Klagenfurt ein Stadtspaziergang soziale Infrastruktur sichtbar macht. Ausstellungen, Kulinarik und ein Quiz laden zum Mitmachen ein, bevor es zurück nach Graz geht – mit neuen Eindrücken. Eine Reise, die zeigt, wie Infrastruktur Räume, Menschen und Ideen verbindet.

Zum Abschluss der Architekturtage 2026 wird im HDA gefeiert. Unter dem Motto Infrastruktur. Was uns verbindet. gilt: erst denken, dann tanzen – oder beides gleichzeitig. Mit Live-Bands, DJs, Drinks, guten Leuten, lauter Musik und voller Energie – getanzt wird, bis die Infrastruktur wackelt. Für ein paar Stunden zählt nur der Moment, alles andere kann warten. Das Haus steht allen offen, der Eintritt ist frei.

Two architectural collectives – asphalt and circa. – transform the HDA into an open laboratory. Positioned between documentation, archive and spatial staging, a collaborative space for thought and discourse emerges, making visible their interest in working with the existing fabric and in establishing a new culture of preservation. Based on precise field research into routines, material flows, traces and infrastructures, they open up two complementary perspectives on new narratives of (re)building in both urban and rural contexts. The approaches and working methods of both collectives are brought together at the HDA and made immediately perceptible. A multifaceted accompanying programme of talks, a symposium and workshops with students – beginning as part of the Architecture Days 2026 – deepens these perspectives, develops them further and brings them into the public realm through shared discourse.

Architekt Hasso Hohmann lädt in Zusammenarbeit mit STO und dem Haus der Architektur zur Veranstaltung „Häuser schaun” ein. Anmeldung zur Führung startet am 11.06.2026.

Wir begeben uns auf eine Bus-Exkursion von Wien über Graz zur österreichisch-slowenischen Grenze, begleitet von Vorträgen, Lesungen und Diskussionen mit Zeitzeug*innen und Expert*innen, mit einem kleinen Rastplatz-Symposium in Šentilj. HDA – Haus der Architektur, together with the EU-funded platform LINA – Learning, Interacting and Networking in Architecture, is exploring its European neighborhood. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the architecture of the Modern forms an outstanding part of the country’s twentieth-century architectural legacy. New Perspectives on the Architecture of the Modern in Bosnia and Herzegovina aims to re-evaluate this specific architectural heritage.

The Architecture Prize of the Province of Styria 2025 was awarded to Architektursalon and su.n – spaceunit.net for the Salon Stolz. The curatorship was commissioned by the Styrian Provincial Government to the architectural office SO? architecture and ideas.

The HDA – House of Architecture is a network partner in the EU-funded programme LINA. The association of over 34 European cultural institutions and event platforms promotes young architects and creatives from Europe and offers them an international platform within the network. Within the framework of the LINA Call for Projects, young talents can apply and, after a preliminary selection process, participate in exhibitions, biennials, lectures, workshops, publications, etc. throughout Europe.

As a collection partner of the nextroom architecture database, the HDA is responsible for the continuous documentation of architectural goings-on in Styria. The "nextroom" database presents completed projects of high architectural quality or relevance to building culture in the form of a long-term archive that depicts contemporary architecture in Austria and beyond and makes it accessible. Architects can submit projects completed in the last two years at any time.
